Zhoushan Ligang Ship Repair & Building Co., Ltd. is located in the sea transportation center from north to south, in the north of Jintang Island, Zhoushan, Zhejiang, 121.5° degrees east longitude, 30.02 degrees northern latitude, adjacent to the golden watercourse — Jintang watercourse in the southwest, facing Wharf of Ningbo Beilun Port across the sea, 0.6 nautical mile away from the international anchorage, which provide the exceptional advantage for undertaking the repair and maintenance of the medium-sized ships at home and abroad.

The company was established in 1974, and achieved joint operation with Shanghai Hudong Shipyard in 1987. The company cultivated many production backbones and technical talent and currently has more than 450 employees including 60 engineers and technicians.

The factory covers an area of 100,000 square meters, the sea front is about 800  meters long with 6.5 meters deep. The shipyard owns one 35,000T berth with 40T crane, one 30,000T berth with 20T crane, one 15,000T berth with 35T crane. Yard also had one 25,000T dry dock with 20T and 35T crane, one 12,000T dry dock with 90T gantry crane.

The factory building covers an area of 66,000 square meters. The ship repair workshop, machine repair workshop, electric repair workshop, and facilities for shipbuilding and ship repairing are equipped.

The company is mainly engaged in ship repairing, shipbuilding as well as repairing and manufacture of mechanical and electrical equipment. Since it was established 35 years ago, the company has repaired over 2,800 ships including refrigerated vessel, passenger ship, oil tanker, fishing ship, various engineering ships, container ship, cargo ship, warship, and research ship, etc.

The company pays attention to the hardware and software construction, owns 25 workshop teams, a worker team with ship inspection certificate and work license, full-time and part-time quality inspectors, strengthens quality management, and was certified to ISO9000 Quality Management System of China Classification Society in 2000.
